I hear ya'. I've recently finished my portfolio selection (It's going to be turned in Tuesday (I'm waiting for the prints to get done.) and my prof. has informed me that getting in will be no problem considering all the time I've spent and such, but he's concerned about my work progressively. So, he's had me, and albiet it might sound a little dulldrum, write a list of things I truly can connect with, things I truly think are awesome or cool (for lack of better terms.)

Essentially, he felt that I wasn't connected enough with my work (as I agree) and that there was only a small period of time where I hit it, but that faded.

It's been working, and I think it might work for you, too, maybe. It really gets you in a critical attitude of not just saying "Oh, that looks okay, let's shoot it", but rather saying "Woah, that's rad" or "Oh my, that's horrid." That way you make certain that you love what your shooting, instead of being interested in only the idea behind the piece (wheter it be story, mystery, meaning, whatever.)

Keep it real, and wish me luck.
